https://animalcrossingpocketcamp.gamepedia.com/Gardening/Cross-Pollination#Black_Tulips -- how do you verify the tulip is pure black? The section says, essentially: "Use O/B on O/W. Half of black tulips you get will be B/B. The End."

Answer: To verify purity of Black, cross-pollinate with Lloid Orange tulip. If you receive White seeds, it is a dud and can be harvested. Leedum (talk) 02:32, 13 July 2020 (UTC) Leedum, 7/12/2020

^on the same topic as the above question, how do i get O/B tulips? How do I verify? Elmerald (talk) 15:16, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

If you cross Lloid orange onto pure black, all orange seeds will be O/B. If you don't have a pure black yet and you're trying to get one, crossing (O/W) oranges onto your (B/W) black tulip can give white (like noted above) whereas (O/B) oranges onto (B/W) blacks cannot give white seeds. since all orange seeds/flowers stack regardless of genes, and you can't control which you plant/pollinate with, the guide tells you to just cross them all until you get a pure black or enough black seeds as you need. I believe the Pink tulip section is flawed. It claims crossing Pink/White with Pink/White will result in 50% pure Pink seeds, but this cannot be the case. It should only be 22.5% pure Pink, with the other 45% being Pink/White. This combination would also result in 6.75% White/White, and 15.75% Black/White. I had someone confirm and they agreed with you. So you can go ahead and fix it. I don't wanna mess anything up since I know much about x-pol. =P MstrPoptart (talk) 08:10, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
