Gyroidite Scavenger Hunt 5 is an event held in-game from Nov. 12, 2018 to Nov. 21, 2018.

This event featured special anniversary-themed furniture and clothes which players could obtain through crafting.

Most of the items required an event-specific crafting material, the First-Anniv. Gyroidite which was obtained via the player finding the gyroidites on the ground and collecting them, by fulfilling requests for villagers at the campsite and receiving gyroidites as a reward, and occasionally as a featured reward through Shovelstrike Quarry.

Gyroidites Spawns[]

The gyroidites could potentially spawn at the Market Place, OK Motors, Breezy Hollow, Lost Lure Creek, Saltwater Shores, and Sunburst Island.

Non-spawn locations are Campsite, Garden, and Camper.

There could be 10 gyroidites spawned on the map at a time.

When playing continuously in spawn locations, x1 new gyroidite will re-spawn at a random location once every 10 minutes for as long as the player is active. If the player closes the game or stays in a non-spawn location for at least 30 minutes, then there will be a total of x10 gyroidites re-spawned across multiple locations.

For example, the player could find x4 gyroidites at OK Motors, x3 gyroidites at Breezy Hollow, x1 gyroidite at the Market Place, and x2 gyroidites at Lost Lure Creek.

This means that if a player spends 2 hours doing activities around the map, the most gyroidites they can collect is x22.
(example: open the game at 8:00pm = x10 gyroidites, 8:10pm = x1 gyroidite, 8:20pm = x1 gyroidite, 8:30pm = x1 gyroidite, 8:40pm = x1 gyroidite, 8:50pm = x1 gyroidite, 9:00pm = x1 gyroidite, 9:10pm = x1 gyroidite, 9:20pm = x1 gyroidite, 9:30pm = x1 gyroidite, 9:40pm = x1 gyroidite, 9:50pm = x1 gyroidite, 10:00pm = x1 gyroidite)

If a player spends at least 30 minutes in an non-spawn location then travels around the map to collect gyroidites and goes back to a non-spawn location, repeatedly for 2 hours, the most gyroidites they can collect is x50.
(example: open game at 8:00pm = x10 gyroidites, stay at campsite until 8:31pm = x10 gyroidites, exit game, open game at 9:02pm = x10 gyroidites, stay at campsite until 9:33pm = x10 gyroidites, stay at campsite until 10:04pm = x10 gyroidites)
